Double Date: The Candle Lab + a Local Restaurant

The Candle Lab has been a part of the Columbus dating scene since 2006. Many of you may have already experienced it, but if you are out of the loop or new to the city, then this guide is for you!

Pheromones, or scents, are often a vital part of our attraction to a specific person. So, why not use this to our advantage?! This date night option is all about scents and with over 120 fragrance options at The Candle Lab, the scent you make is guaranteed to be unique. The entire process takes about 30 minutes, with a cooling time of 90 minutes.

One of the huge draws to this date night is their delivery option. Once the candle has cooled they will deliver it to a nearby restaurant where you are dining. Along with what to expect, this guide will also give you a restaurant suggestion for each Columbus Candle Lab location, making it the ultimate double date.

Pour Your Own Candle – How it Works

Step 1: Fill out your scent form with all your favorites. You can use every line on the page or just a few – it’s totally up to your nose. They have really unique (like bacon, old books, and cannabis) or regular (like cinnamon, jasmine, and coconut) scents to choose from.

Step 2: Pick out your out your jar. Jars/containers range from $17-$32.
Step 3: Bring your scent form to your designated scent stylist. They will make recommendations on what, from their experience, will go well together. Don’t worry if you don’t know what scents you would like to use – that’s what the scent stylists are there for! The recommendation is three, but you can have two if you would like. If you are at the Grandview location, enjoy a drink while you decide!
Step 4: Design your label and name your scent.

Pro Tips:

  • Taking your candle home on the same day? Get to the store AT LEAST two hours before close. Candles take 90 minutes to cool before they are ready to go home.
  • This date night can easily be made into a quarterly tradition. The Candle Lab switches out the scents often, so you can visit in the spring, summer, fall, and winter to make a candle specifically for that season.
  • The Candle Lab is unable to pour into jars brought into the store. Unless it is an old Candle Lab jar, then they will give you $1 off for reusing it.
  • You don’t have to make a candle! They offer other home and body products for customization too.
  • The Candle Lab is always having fun events! Be sure to follow each location on Facebook to see what is happening!
